1. Preparation & Planning
Assess the Area: Measure the space where the Synthetic in Perth grass will be installed.
Remove Existing Grass: Use a shovel or sod cutter to remove natural grass, weeds, and debris.
Level the Surface: Ensure the ground is even and compacted for a smooth installation.
2. Install Base Layer
Add a Base Material: Spread crushed rock or decomposed granite (2-4 inches thick) for drainage and stability.
Compact the Base: Use a plate compactor or roller to create a firm foundation.
3. Weed Barrier Installation
Lay a Weed Membrane: Place a weed-proof fabric over the base to prevent weed growth and improve drainage.
4. Roll Out the Artificial Grass
Unroll & Position the Turf: Lay out the artificial grass over the area and let it settle for a few hours.
Trim the Edges: Use a sharp utility knife to cut and shape the grass as needed.
5. Secure & Join the Grass
Seam the Turf Together: If using multiple pieces, secure them with joining tape and adhesive.
Fix with Nails or Stakes: Secure the edges with galvanized nails or landscape staples every 6–12 inches.
6. Infill & Brushing
Apply Infill (Optional): Spread silica sand or rubber infill to add weight and improve the grass’s feel.
Brush the Grass: Use a power broom or stiff brush to lift the fibers for a natural look.
